Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi
This course discusses some fundamental aspects of cellular and molecular biology as studied by quantitative approaches. Some simple mathematical/statistical and computational tools are taken up to carry out quantitative analysis of biological systems. In addition, students are introduced to algorithms used for biomedical applications.
Prerequisite: MTH100
Semesters Taught: Winter
The aim of this basic core course is to provide students a decent background in cell biology and biochenmistry. The major focus is to (a) cover most important concepts in cell biology like structure and functions of cell, proteins, and signal transduction mechanisms, (b) cover biological thermodynamics, enzyme kinetics and metabolism and finally c) solve qualitative and quantitative problems.
Prerequisite: None
